CJ Conway

Science, nature and esoteric knowledge all combine in a retro aesthetic in CJ Conway’s multidisciplinary practice. Elemental materials, forces and everyday items combine in themes that reflect a poetic, dynamic and interconnected universe. She views her studio as a laboratory, a sanctuary where she explores the connections between philosophy and natural phenomena.
Born in New York, Conway attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago and completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree with First Class Honours at RMIT in 2010. She has exhibited both locally and internationally, showing recently at Serial Space in Sydney, RMIT’s Project Space and Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne. Later this year, Conway will be the Artist in Residence at the Florey Neuroscience Institute where she will collaborate with scientists to create environments relating to brain research.
