Notions of nostalgia blend with a surrealistic impulse from hell in Heath Franco’s work. At times his videos are pure skateboard-punk street mayhem and a mixture of David Lynch and Hieronymus Bosch combined with medieval notions of the carnivalesque. A sense of the perverse becomes the catalyst in DREAM HOME, a pyrotechnic funhouse. Franco is a Sydney-based artist who graduated with a B.F.A. (Painting/Drawing) at the College of Fine Arts, University of NSW. Franco has exhibited at Galerie pompom, Campbelltown Arts Centre, Firstdraft Gallery, MOP Projects, Parramatta Artists Studios, DB Project and Stills Gallery, and his video YOUR DOOR (2011), was selected for the exhibition in Projects at Art Fair Tokyo, 2012.
